Sapiens employee assistance programmes (EAP's) provide a range of support services to organisation's employees. It is a confidential service, paid for by the employer that can assist the individual with personal or work-related problems that may be affecting their health, wellbeing or performance.
Sapiens do not offer a 24 hour/ 7 day a week service but rather work with the individual and organisation to develop a bespoke support package.
The EAP service is centred on structured, contained, short-term counselling either face-to-face or via the internet. Longer-term, psychotherapy which explores deep-seated issues can also be offered as appropriate. For a more in-depth explanation of the different service please see under the Therapy page.
Sapiens aim to provide the first appointment within one week of referral and find that up to 6 sessions of personal counselling is normally sufficient.
If it becomes apparent that a different form of intervention, such as psychiatric treatment, is required the Sapiens team will recommend and facilitate referral to the appropriate source.
Funding for the provision of services outside of Sapiens will not be through the EAP and will so depend on whether the employee has access to a company health plan, can fund themselves or whether professional services are available (through State provision) within their community.

A central component of EAP is confidentiality. Sapiens follow strict guidelines on ethics as given by UKCP, BACP and other regulatory bodies and data protection.is paramount with all online and email contact hosted by secure servers (VSee, Outlook).
Whilst we do not provide details of individual cases to the organisation it is helpful for us to feedback common themes emerging within an organisation which could contribute to development of further wellbeing programmes. The aim with this is to improve working conditions and environments, reduce stress, and improve employee satisfaction.
